Skool in Other Languages: Spanish, German and More

Which languages Skool supports, how members and owners switch language, and what Skool going global means for your group.

Skool now works in 11 languages, and each person sees it in the language their browser uses unless they pick another one. Spanish and German came first, in August 2026, and the list has grown fast since. This guide covers which Skool language options exist today, how members and owners switch, what Skool translates and what it does not, and what "Skool goes global" means for payouts and payments. Everything here was checked against Skool's help centre on 29 September 2026.

Skool supports 11 languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, Italian, Vietnamese, Turkish, Dutch and Japanese. Skool picks one from your browser settings. To change it, click your profile picture and choose Language, or in the app go to Profile Settings, Account, Language. Members still pay in US dollars.

Which languages Skool supports

Skool's help article on supported languages (last updated 24 August 2026) lists 11, and says more are "coming soon". The videos show how fast the list grew.

Two things to know. First, in Skool News #70 Skool's team said "Chinese", but the help centre lists Traditional Chinese (繁體中文). We did not find Simplified Chinese on the list. Second, the help centre is newer than the videos, so Vietnamese, Turkish and Japanese are live even though no video in this post shows them.

If you have been waiting for Skool to speak your members' language before you start, that wait is over for these 11. You can try Skool (affiliate link) and switch the language yourself to see how it looks. Our guide on how to start a Skool community covers the setup.

How to change your language on Skool

Skool's help article says the language "is set by default based on the user's browser preferences", and anyone can change it at any time. In Skool News #68, Skool's team added that Skool saves your choice, so if your browser is in Spanish but you pick English, Skool keeps English when you come back.

Where to change it, from Skool's help article and its screenshots:

  1. On the web, logged in: click your profile picture at the top right, then click Language.
  2. On the web, logged out: click the language icon (a globe) at the top right of the page.
  3. In the mobile app: go to Profile Settings, then Account, then Language.

The setting belongs to each person, not to the group. An owner who switches to German sees Skool in German. Their members keep seeing whatever their own browser or choice says.

What Skool translates, and what it does not

In Skool News #68, the video at the top of this page, Skool's team said the whole Skool interface on desktop and mobile was translated: menus and settings, and, for visitors, your About page layout, the sign-up form and the card form. Their point was that a Spanish speaker who clicks your link lands on a Spanish page from start to checkout.

Here is what that does not cover:

  • Your own content. Neither the help article nor the videos say Skool translates the posts, courses or About page text you write. When #70 showed a Chinese group, the group's own content was written in Chinese. Plan to write for your members in their language.
  • Emails. In #68 (4 August 2026), Skool's team said email templates were still in English. The help article does not mention emails, so we could not confirm whether that has changed.
  • Your group's language in Discovery. Skool's Discovery FAQ says that if your group's category or language is wrong, you should contact support. So your group has a language in Discovery, and support can fix it if it is wrong.

One more point from #70: Skool's team said Growth Boost ads had started running in Spanish, for Spanish-language groups. The help centre says Growth Boost lets Skool run off-site ads for your group, but does not mention ad languages. See our guide to Skool Growth Boost for how the ads work.

What "Skool goes global" covered

Skool Goes Global | Skool News #70, Skool News on YouTube, 18 Aug 2026

Skool News #70 (18 August 2026) was called "Skool Goes Global". Skool's team mainly covered three things: payouts to more countries, reviews rolling out to more groups, and the new languages above. Here is where the money side stands now, per the help centre.

Payouts in your local currency

In #70, Skool's team said payouts had just opened in India, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Costa Rica, that India had no payouts at all before, and that they planned to cover every country except those under sanctions.

Skool's payments FAQ (updated 10 September 2026) now lists 152 supported payout countries, including all seven. It says: "Payouts are in your local currency. We do not support USD deposits outside of the US." A UK owner, for example, is paid in pounds.

Skool's article on setting up payouts (updated 22 September 2026) says a new payout system now covers every region except the United States, with "no additional fees for currency conversion". Its steps, in short:

  1. Go to SETTINGS, then Payouts, then Add Payout method. You can also add it while setting up your group, from your profile settings.
  2. Choose the country you live in or where your bank account is, then enter the code Skool emails you.
  3. Add your personal details, using the exact name your bank has on record.
  4. Verify your identity. Skool says this check is mandatory and needs camera access.
  5. Add your local bank account, for example an INR account in India.

All your groups and your affiliate commissions pay into that one bank account.

On timing, the videos and the help centre differ. In #70, Skool's team described payouts in some countries landing within about a minute. The payments FAQ still says your balance is paid out every Wednesday, that international deposits may take 3 to 5 business days, and that the first payout can take up to 14 days. Plan around the help centre.

Members still pay in US dollars

This is the big gap. Skool's payments FAQ says: "All subscription prices on Skool are in USD. Members pay in USD." In #70, Skool's team listed payment methods and currencies as the next step on their roadmap, but as of 29 September 2026 the help centre still says USD only. A member in Germany sees German menus and a price in dollars.

Tax is simpler. Skool is the merchant of record and handles EU VAT for you, adding the VAT rate on top of your price. Skool's own example: a $100 a month product in Germany, at 19% VAT, charges $119. For the full fee picture, see our Skool pricing guide.

Is Skool a good fit for a non-English community?

For would-be owners outside the US, here is the honest summary:

  • Good: your visitors see Skool's menus, sign-up and checkout in their own language, set from their browser. Payouts land in your local currency with no extra conversion fee, in 152 countries.
  • Not yet: prices are in US dollars only. Skool said in August that emails were still in English. Chinese is Traditional only. You write your own content in your members' language.

If your members speak one of the 11 languages and a dollar price is fine for them, Skool now works well for you. If they must pay in local currency, check the help centre again before you commit.

For owners: follow-ups in your members' language

Skool's interface speaks your members' language, but the moments that matter most for your income, a failed card or a cancellation, still need a message from you. Skool retries a failed card and prompts the member to update it, and on the Pro plan you can show a cancellation video when someone cancels. Skool's help centre documents no setting that sends a note in your words afterwards.

Backpack is a Chrome extension plus our servers that does. Payment Recovery messages a member when their card fails, and Cancellation Recovery messages a member who cancels. You write the messages, so they can be in Spanish, German or any language your members read. It sends from your own account, runs with your computer off, and costs $9 a month for every Skool community you admin. Backpack is not made by or affiliated with Skool. Try Backpack free for 7 days.

Whatever your members speak, the Skool language setting now does most of the work for them. If Skool fits your community, you can start a Skool community here (affiliate link).

FAQ

What languages is Skool available in?

Skool's help centre lists 11 languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, Italian, Vietnamese, Turkish, Dutch and Japanese. Spanish and German launched first, in August 2026, and the rest followed within weeks. Skool says more languages are coming soon, so check its supported languages article for the current list.

How do I change the language on Skool?

On the web, click your profile picture at the top right and choose Language. If you are logged out, click the globe icon at the top right. In the mobile app, go to Profile Settings, then Account, then Language. Skool sets a default from your browser, and your own choice is saved.

Does Skool translate my posts and courses?

Skool translates its own interface, such as menus, settings, sign-up and checkout. Neither its help article nor its videos say it translates the posts, courses or About page text you write. When Skool showed a Chinese group in August 2026, the owner's content was written in Chinese. Write for your members in their language.

Can members pay in their local currency on Skool?

Not yet. Skool's payments FAQ says all subscription prices on Skool are in USD and members pay in USD. In August 2026, Skool's team named payment methods and currencies as a next step, but the help centre still said USD only on 29 September 2026. For EU members, Skool adds VAT on top.

Does Skool pay out in my local currency?

Yes. Skool's help centre says payouts are in your local currency, and it does not support USD deposits outside the US. Its payout article says the new system covers every region except the United States, with no extra fee for currency conversion. Skool lists 152 supported payout countries, including India and Brazil.

Is Skool available in Chinese?

Yes, in Traditional Chinese (繁體中文). Skool added Chinese in August 2026, and its help centre lists it as Traditional Chinese. We did not find Simplified Chinese on Skool's list of supported languages on 29 September 2026. Skool says more languages are coming, so check its help article before you plan around it.
