To invite members to your Skool community, click SETTINGS in your group, open the Invite tab, and either copy your link or send an email invite. Your Skool invite link is for sharing anywhere. An email invite lets one person in free and straight away, with no payment and no request to approve. Every step was checked against Skool's help centre on 12 October 2026.
Click SETTINGS in your Skool community and open the Invite tab. Click COPY to get your invite link and share it anywhere. To let someone in free, type their email and click SEND, or click IMPORT to upload a CSV. Email and CSV invites give instant access without buying or requesting membership.
Where is the invite link on Skool?
Your invite link sits in your group's settings, under the Invite tab. Skool's help article on inviting members gives two steps:
- Click the SETTINGS button in your community.
- In the Invite tab, click COPY to copy your link.
Then share it wherever your people are: your bio, your emails, a post, a DM.
Skool's traffic sources article says link-in-bio tools, redirects and URL shorteners strip the traffic source, so those joins show up as "Direct" in your Growth tab. If you want to see which channel brings members, paste the link as it is.
The link and the email invite do different jobs. Skool's article only promises free, instant access for email and CSV invites. So if your group is paid or you approve members by hand, email anyone you want to let in free. Our guide to Skool membership pending shows how to work the request queue.
How do you send an email invite on Skool?
Skool's steps:
- Click SETTINGS in your community and open the Invite tab.
- Type the person's email address in the Email address field.
- Click SEND.
Skool says email invites "grant instant access without purchasing or requesting membership." There is one catch. The person must click the JOIN NOW button in the email to be pre-approved. So tell them to look for the email and use that button, not a link they found somewhere else.
Our guide on how to join a Skool community covers the invited person's side, including what to do when the invite went to a different email from the one on their Skool account.
How do you invite many people at once?
Use a CSV file. In the Invite tab, click IMPORT, then UPLOAD FILE. Skool says this suits importing old customers or members in batches, and bulk invites also grant instant access without buying or requesting membership.
For large lists, Skool recommends inviting through an outside CRM instead of a bulk upload.
Can you invite someone to only some courses?
Yes. Skool's invite article says you "can also select to invite with custom course access." Skool says this is mainly used to invite group admins or mods.
If you sell outside Skool, there are two Pro plan routes that send invites for you:
- Zapier. Skool's Zapier guide sends an invite with custom course access when someone is added to a CRM list. Only private courses show as options, because public courses are open to every member. Skool notes a standard Zapier account usually takes 10 to 15 minutes to send.
- Webhook. Skool's plugins guide calls this a developer-only feature for sending a unique email invite link when people check out through an outside payment processor.
How do you invite an admin or moderator to Skool?
Invite them by email first, then change their role. Skool's article on making a member an admin or moderator gives the order:
- Click SETTINGS in your community and email invite your team member.
- Once they join, they show up on the Members tab.
- Click MEMBERSHIP SETTINGS next to their name and change their role to moderator or admin.
You can have up to 30 admins, but you must be on the Pro plan to have more than one. Skool's member roles article says moderators can invite someone to your community too, so you can hand invites to a mod. Our Skool admin vs moderator guide explains what else each role can do.
What is "Invite 3 friends" in Skool 101?
It is a step in Skool's own video course for new owners. Skool 101 sits in Skool's help centre, and lesson 4 is called "Setup + first 3 members". Its chapter list runs: set the vibe, then "Step 2: Invite 3 friends" (at 14:02), then show up and let things emerge.
Invites also count toward Discovery. Skool's article on why a group is not visible in Discovery lists "inviting members" as part of the minimum a new group needs, next to a cover image, a group description, a completed About page and a post. Once a group meets that, Skool's team reviews it, and Skool says it usually gets listed within an hour.
Is the invite link the same as a member affiliate link?
No. They are separate tools.
| Invite tab | Member affiliates | |
|---|---|---|
| Who uses it | You and your team | Your members |
| Plan | No plan limit in Skool's article | Pro only |
| What it does | Shares your link, or lets people in free by email or CSV | Gives members a link to refer others for a commission you set |
| How Skool labels the join | "Invite" for an admin's email invite | "Affiliate" |
Skool's member affiliates article says the feature is only on the Pro plan. You set the commission percentage in the Affiliates tab, and members then see the option to refer others. Owners and admins cannot refer people to their own group.
In your Growth tab, Skool's traffic sources article counts a join from an admin's email invite as "Invite" and a join from a member's affiliate link as "Affiliate". Our guide to getting more members on Skool covers the other channels.
How do you welcome members after they accept an invite?
An invite gets people in the door. Making them feel welcome is the next job. Skool's AutoDM plugin, on the Pro plan, sends one message you write within 1 to 5 minutes of a member joining, and skips anyone you already have a chat with. Skool's plugins guide also lists an onboarding video on Pro.
Backpack adds Welcome Drip, which sends welcome messages to your new members in your own words. You write the messages and Backpack sends them, even with your computer off, because it runs on our servers. Backpack is a Chrome extension for Skool community owners that also messages members whose card fails or who cancel, and schedules your posts. It is $9 a month for every Skool community you admin, with 7 days free. Backpack is not affiliated with Skool.
So your Skool invite link lives under SETTINGS, then Invite. Share the link with the world, send email invites to the people you want in free, and keep member affiliate links for members who bring in others.
FAQ
Where do I find my Skool invite link?
In your group's settings. Click SETTINGS in your community, open the Invite tab and click COPY. That copies your link to share anywhere. The same tab has the Email address field for email invites and the IMPORT button for CSV uploads. Skool's help article on inviting members gives these steps, and it was updated on 28 September 2026.
Do people have to pay if I invite them by email on Skool?
No. Skool says email invites grant instant access without purchasing or requesting membership, and so do bulk CSV invites. The person must click the JOIN NOW button in the invite email to be pre-approved. Your invite link from the same tab does not come with that promise, so use email for anyone you want in free.
Why can't my invited member get into my Skool group?
Check that they used the JOIN NOW button in the invite email. Skool says that click is what pre-approves them. Ask them to find the email sent to the address you typed and click the button from there. If they asked to join another way and you approve members by hand, you can approve their request yourself.
Can members invite friends to a Skool community?
Yes, if you turn on member affiliates. That feature is only on Skool's Pro plan. You set a commission in the Affiliates tab, and members then see an option to refer others with their own link. Owners and admins cannot refer people to their own group. Skool's roles article also lets moderators send invites.
Is there a limit to how many people I can invite to Skool?
Skool's invite article gives no number. Skool's pricing page lists unlimited members on both the Hobby and Pro plans. For large lists, Skool recommends inviting through an outside CRM rather than a bulk CSV upload, but it does not say how big a list has to be before that matters.
