To pin a post on Skool, open the post, click the three dots menu and click Pin to feed. This guide covers how to pin a post on Skool, who can do it, pinning to a course page, unpinning, and what to pin so new members see the right thing first. Every fact was checked against Skool's help centre on 3 October 2026.
Click the post you want to pin, click the three dots menu, then click Pin to feed. Skool then shows the post at the top of your community feed. Only owners and admins can pin, not moderators. Skool says admins can pin up to 3 posts in their community, and up to 12 on each course page.
How to pin a post on Skool
These are the steps from Skool's help article, How to pin a post? Its screenshots show Skool in a web browser.
- Click on the post you want to pin. It opens in a window over the feed.
- Click the three dots menu in the top right corner of the post to see more options.
- Click Pin to feed.
In the article's screenshots, each pinned post sits at the top of the feed with a Pinned label. Skool says pinning is for giving an important announcement more visibility, or for highlighting members' posts that did well, so you can pin other people's posts as well as your own.
How to pin a post to a course page
The same menu has a second option, Pin to course page. It shows the post on a page in your Classroom, and the post stays in your community feed too. Skool suggests it for discussions about one lesson, or for gathering similar posts on one page.
- Open the post and click the three dots menu.
- Click Pin to course page. A box opens where you search for the page.
- Start typing the page name in the search bar.
- Select the page. Skool takes you there so you can see the pinned post.
Skool allows up to 12 pinned posts per page. A post can be pinned to the top of your feed and to a page at the same time.
Who can pin a post on Skool?
Owners and admins. Skool's pin article gives the option to admins, and its member roles article has a chart of what each role can do.
| Role | Can pin and unpin posts? | What Skool's roles chart says |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | Yes | Can do everything, plus get payouts |
| Billing manager | Yes | Only given to admins; adds member and group billing info |
| Admin | Yes | Can do everything except change the group owner and see billing info |
| Moderator | No | Pin/unpin posts is crossed out |
Moderators can change a post's category and turn comments on or off, but cannot pin. To let a team member manage pins, make them an admin. Skool says admins have access to everything except the billing settings, so weigh that first.
Can you unpin a post on Skool?
Yes. Skool's roles chart lists pinning and unpinning together, as something admins can do and moderators cannot. But Skool's pin article stops at pinning. No help article gives the steps to unpin, so we have not written any here.
Unpinning matters because of the limit. With 3 slots, an old pin takes space from something new members need now.
What should you pin in your Skool community?
Skool's article on finding group rules tells members to "make sure to read the pinned posts." So pin what a new member needs first.
A welcome or start-here post
Tell new members who the group is for, what to do first, and where to start in the Classroom. Ask them to introduce themselves in the comments. Skool's plugins article suggests this for large groups that use the Unlock Posting at Level 2 or 3 plugin: members introduce themselves by commenting on your pinned post, then start posting once they reach that level.
Your group rules, in your own words
Click SETTINGS, open the Rules tab and add a NEW rule. Your group starts with a few default rules you can edit or remove. Rewrite them the way you would say them out loud, and keep them short, as Skool recommends. Then share the rules link in your pinned post or first lesson, which is what Skool's group rules article suggests.
Anything members keep asking about
If a locked course needs an action or an extra payment, explain how to get it in a pinned post. Skool's article for members says those details are usually in the group's pinned posts or Classroom announcements. A current announcement, or a member's post that did well, can take the last slot.
Your pinned posts are what people see after they join. Your About page is what they see before. Our Skool About page guide covers that side.
Keep the feed moving under your pinned posts
Pinned posts stay put. The feed under them needs new posts, and keeping that up every day is real work. Skool's help centre documents no way to schedule a feed post, as we cover in our guide to scheduling Skool posts.
Backpack is a Chrome extension plus our servers for Skool community owners. Its Post Scheduler lets you write posts now and publish them to Skool later, so your feed stays active on the days you are busy. It runs on our servers, so it works with your computer off. Backpack also has Welcome Drip, Payment Recovery and Cancellation Recovery: you write the messages, and it sends them. It is $9 a month for every feature and every Skool community you admin, with 7 days free. Backpack is not affiliated with Skool.
So that is how to pin a post on Skool: open the post, click the three dots menu, then click Pin to feed. You get 3 slots, so give them to your welcome post, your group rules, and whatever new members need this week.
FAQ
How many posts can you pin on Skool?
Up to 3. Skool's help article says admins can pin up to 3 posts in their community. Course pages have their own limit of 12 pinned posts per page, and one post can be pinned to the top of your feed and to a course page at the same time.
Can moderators pin posts on Skool?
No. Skool's member roles chart crosses out pinning and unpinning posts for moderators. Moderators can approve new members, delete reported posts and comments, change a post's category and turn comments on or off. To pin, a person needs the admin role, which gives access to everything except the billing settings.
Can you pin someone else's post on Skool?
Yes, if you are an owner or admin. Skool says pinning can highlight members' posts that did well, as well as your own announcements. In the screenshots in Skool's help article, an admin pins a post written by someone else, using the same three dots menu and the Pin to feed option.
Can you pin a post on the Skool mobile app?
Skool's help centre does not say. Its pin article only shows Skool in a web browser, and no help article covers pinning in the mobile app. If you cannot find the option on your phone, open Skool in a web browser, click the post, click the three dots menu, then click Pin to feed.
What should you pin in a Skool community?
Pin what a new member needs first: a welcome or start-here post, your group rules in your own words, and a current announcement. Skool tells members to read the pinned posts, and its help centre suggests sharing your group rules link in a pinned post, so members will look there first.
