When Skool is not working, start with your network, not your account. Skool's help centre has one article for a blank page or an ERR_CONNECTION_RESET error, one for a 403 Forbidden error, and one for videos that will not play. Most of the fixes are about your Wi-Fi, your VPN or your browser. Here they are in the order to try them, plus what to do about the app, your login or a locked course. All checked on Skool's help centre on 12 October 2026.
If Skool is not working, try another network first, such as mobile data. If Skool works there, the problem is your Wi-Fi, not your account. Restart your router, turn off any VPN, clear your browser data and switch your DNS to Cloudflare. If a 403 error stays, Skool support cannot remove it: ask your internet provider to whitelist skool.com.
Is Skool down, or is it just you?
Switch networks to find out. We found no public status page for Skool: status.skool.com does not load, and none of the 122 articles in Skool's help centre links one. So use the test in Skool's connectivity article: switch to another Wi-Fi or your phone's mobile internet, then open skool.com and a second site, such as news.google.com.
- Skool works on the other network: your own Wi-Fi, router or VPN is the cause. Use the fixes below.
- Other sites fail too: your internet is down, not Skool.
- Only Skool fails, on every network: wait a little, then contact Skool support.
On 12 October 2026, that article also carried a live notice: customers of the internet provider Converge cannot connect to Skool.com. Skool says another network or Cloudflare DNS has fixed it in most cases.
Why is Skool not loading?
For a blank page or the ERR_CONNECTION_RESET error, Skool's connectivity article gives five fixes, in this order:
- Try another network. Another Wi-Fi or your mobile data.
- Restart your router. Unplug its power cord, count to 30, plug it back in and wait 5 minutes for the lights to turn green.
- Clear your browser's stored data. Hold Ctrl and Shift, tap Delete, set the time range to "All time" and click "Clear data". You may need to log back in to some sites.
- Turn off your VPN. Skool says a VPN "often causes this specific error".
- Use Cloudflare as your DNS. Skool links Cloudflare's setup guide, with steps for routers, Android and iPhone.
Still blank? Skool suggests asking your internet provider, through its support chat, to "whitelist the skool.com domain". On a computer, our Skool desktop app guide shows how to run Skool in its own window.
How do you fix a Skool 403 error?
Test on mobile data first. Skool says a 403 that shows up on one Wi-Fi network but not on others usually comes from that network, not your account. A 403 Forbidden error means the server got your request and refused it. Skool's 403 article (updated 22 September 2026) says Skool support cannot remove the block or change your Wi-Fi settings, so the fix is on your side. If Skool works on mobile data, go through its six steps:
- Open a private window. If Skool works there, clear Skool's cookies and cached data in your normal browser, and turn off extensions for a while, above all ad blockers, privacy and script blockers and antivirus browser protection.
- Turn off VPNs and proxies, plus any privacy relay or DNS filtering app. If you need a VPN, try another server location.
- Try another browser or device on the same Wi-Fi. This shows if the problem is one browser, one device or the whole network.
- Restart the modem and router. Unplug both, wait at least 60 seconds, plug the modem in first, then the router. Skool says this can sometimes give you a new public IP address.
- Forget the Wi-Fi network on your device, then reconnect with the password.
- Check filters and DNS. Look at parental controls, content filtering, ad blocking, antivirus web protection and firewall rules on your router. If you are allowed, switch DNS to one of these:
| DNS service | Primary | Secondary |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | 1.1.1.1 | 1.0.0.1 |
| Google Public DNS | 8.8.8.8 | 8.8.4.4 |
Skool says steps 5 and 6 fix it in most cases. If not, ask your internet provider to whitelist skool.com.
Why are Skool videos not playing?
It depends where the video lives: uploaded to Skool, or played from YouTube, Vimeo, Loom or Wistia. Skool's video troubleshooting article starts by checking that service is set up correctly. For a YouTube video that will not stream, it says to log in to your Google account in the same browser, turn off your VPN or switch networks, turn off browser extensions, and switch "from 5G WiFi to 2G WiFi, or to LTE" if you can. If you do not know where a video is hosted, Skool says to ask the group's admins.
If you own the group: check these video settings
| Where the video lives | What Skool's help centre says to check |
|---|---|
| YouTube, unlisted | Turn on "Allow Embedding" in the video's settings |
| Vimeo | Hide from Vimeo, set Embed to Specific domains, add www.skool.com, save. Check your Vimeo plan and Vimeo's outages |
| Loom | Under More, Settings, Audience, turn off comments and emoji reactions. Check your Loom plan and that the video plays on Loom |
| Uploaded to Skool | Hosting is included in your plan. Once processed, the video plays right away |
Why is the Skool app not working?
Start with the same network fixes, which Skool's articles give for phones too. Then check the app is current. On 12 October 2026, the App Store listed version 1.1.21 from 21 July 2026, needing iOS 13.0 or later, and Google Play showed a last update on 30 July 2026. If the app still fails, try skool.com in your phone's browser. Our Skool app guide covers the app itself.
Can't log in or can't get into a group?
Reset your password at skool.com/reset-password and check your spam folder for the email. Skool's support quick start guide says your account is tied to the email you signed up with. Lost that email? Paid accounts should write to help@skool.com, and Skool suggests free accounts make a new one. Skool cannot merge two accounts.
- No COMPLETE button when you join: Skool needs a profile photo and a bio first. If the button is off screen, zoom out with Command and minus on a Mac, or Ctrl and minus on Windows.
- A course shows a lock: it opens at a set level, which you reach through likes on your posts and comments, or by access the admins give.
When should you contact Skool support?
Contact Skool support once your network is ruled out and the problem looks like your account or a bug. Log in to the right account, go to skool.com/support, describe the problem in detail and add the group's URL or your profile handle. Skool says a message from an unrelated email address "will yield no response". For a problem inside one group, ask its admins first. Our guide to contacting Skool support lists every way to reach them.
What if you run the group and Skool will not load for you?
The fixes are the same, but while your connection is down you cannot post. Skool's help centre documents no way to schedule feed posts (our guide to scheduling Skool posts covers the options). Backpack is a Chrome extension with a Post Scheduler that posts from our servers, so posts you queued earlier still go out when your own Wi-Fi or provider is blocking Skool. It does not help if Skool itself is down. It is $9 a month for every Skool community you admin, 7 days free, and not affiliated with Skool.
The short version: when Skool is not working, switch networks first, then work through Skool's fixes for loading, 403 errors and videos.
FAQ
Is Skool down right now?
We found no Skool status page to check. Status.skool.com does not load, and Skool's help centre links none. The quickest test is to switch to mobile data or another Wi-Fi and open skool.com plus another site. If Skool loads on the other network, your own Wi-Fi, router or VPN is the problem.
What does a 403 error on Skool mean?
It means Skool's server received your request and refused it. Skool says that when it happens on one Wi-Fi network but not on mobile data, the network is usually the cause, not your account. Skool support cannot remove that kind of block, so work through Skool's six steps, then ask your internet provider to whitelist skool.com.
Why won't Skool videos play?
Classroom videos come from Skool's own uploader or from YouTube, Vimeo, Loom or Wistia. For YouTube, log in to Google in the same browser, turn off your VPN and extensions, and try another network. If that fails, ask the group's admins: a Vimeo, Loom or unlisted YouTube video needs the right settings on their side.
Why can't I log in to Skool?
Start with a password reset, sent to the right email. Your Skool account is tied to the email you signed up with. Reset your password at skool.com/reset-password and check your spam folder. If you no longer have that email, paid accounts should write to help@skool.com, and Skool suggests free accounts make a new account.
