To turn off Skool notifications, click your profile picture, then Settings, then Notifications, and switch off what you do not want, one group at a time. Chat has its own page under Settings, and push alerts are set on your phone. Below is how to turn off Skool notifications of every kind: email, chat, push, one post or one person, and what to check when they are not working.

On the web, click your profile picture, then Settings, then Notifications. Open each group in the list and switch off the emails you do not want. For chat, go to Settings, then Chat. For push alerts, use your phone's own notification settings for the Skool app. Skool sets these group by group.

How do I turn off Skool email notifications?

These steps come from Skool's help article How to manage my notifications, last updated 4 May 2026. They are written for the website.

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right corner, then click Settings.
  2. In the menu on the left, click Notifications.
  3. At the top are four switches: New follower, Likes, Ka-ching (a new paid member) and Affiliate referral. Switch off any you do not want.
  4. Below them is a list of your groups. Click a group to open its own switches.
  5. Switch off the emails you do not want for that group.

What each Skool notification switch does

SwitchWhat it sends youWho has it
Weekly digest emailA summary of popular posts, once a weekMembers and admins
Daily notifications emailA summary of unread likes, comments, mentions and activity, once a dayMembers and admins

How do I turn off Skool notifications for all groups?

Skool's help article shows the email switches group by group, with no single switch for every group. To go quiet everywhere, open each group in the Notifications list and switch its emails off, then do the next one. The four switches at the top sit above the group list, so you set those once.

If a group is not worth hearing from at all, see how to cancel a Skool subscription. It covers leaving paid and free groups.

How do I stop notifications from one post or one person?

One post: the bell icon

Click the bell icon at the top of a post to hear about its new comments. Click it again to stop following the thread. In Skool's screenshot, the bell then shows a line through it.

One person: unfollow them

Skool tells you when someone you follow posts. To stop that:

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right corner, then click Profile.
  2. Open the Following tab to see who you follow.
  3. Click the Following button next to the person, then click Unfollow.

How do I turn off Skool chat notifications?

These steps come from Skool's article How to turn off my Skool Chat, last updated 15 February 2025.

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right corner, then click Settings.
  2. In the menu on the left, click Chat.
  3. Use the switches, and the drop-down next to each group.

The article's screenshots show three settings on that page:

  • Notifications: a sound and a blinking browser tab when someone messages you. Switch it off for quiet.
  • Email notifications: if you are offline and someone messages you, Skool emails you. It does not email you while you are online.
  • Who can message me? Only members of a group you are in can message you. Each group has a drop-down with Chat on and Chat off, so you choose which groups can reach you.

Block one person in chat

From Skool's article How to block a member on Skool Chat:

  1. In the Skool Chat window, click the three dots menu.
  2. Click Block.

Skool says you will not get notifications of their messages, and they will not know you blocked them.

How do I turn off Skool push notifications?

Push alerts come from the Skool phone app. Its App Store and Google Play listings both describe it as "All Skool's features + push notifications". More in our Skool app guide.

Skool's help centre has no article on push notifications (we searched it on 3 October 2026), so it gives no steps inside the app. To stop push alerts, turn notifications off for the Skool app in your phone's own notification settings. Skool also does not say whether its Notifications page changes push alerts.

On a computer, Skool runs in your browser (see does Skool have a desktop app), and chat alerts there are the sound and blinking tab above.

Skool notifications not working? What to check

  1. Check the switches. Open Settings, then Notifications, and open the group. For messages, check Settings, then Chat.
  2. Know the timing. The digest is weekly and the notifications email daily, so neither is instant. Event reminders come 24 hours before.
  3. Chat emails only come when you are offline. And with Chat off for a group, its members cannot message you.
  4. Check your spam folder, and make sure the email on your Skool account is one you read. Skool's change email article shows how: Settings, then Account, then CHANGE EMAIL.
  5. Check your phone. For push alerts, look at your phone's notification settings for the Skool app.
  6. Skool will not load at all? Skool's connectivity article suggests trying another network, restarting your router, clearing your browser data and turning off any VPN.

Still stuck? Here is how to contact Skool support.

If you run a Skool group

Your members have these same switches. Any of them can turn off your admin broadcast emails, the digest and the daily email for your group, or set chat to off. That matters most when a card fails.

Skool's card declines article says the member sees the error during the recurring charge, with a prompt to update their billing method. Backpack is a Chrome extension (not made by Skool) with Payment Recovery: when a card fails, it sends the messages you wrote from your own Skool account as a normal DM, and stops once they pay. It uses Skool chat, so it reaches members who keep chat on for your group. It runs on our servers, so it works with your computer off. $9 a month covers every Skool community you admin. The short version

That is how to turn off Skool notifications: Settings, then Notifications for email, group by group. Settings, then Chat for messages. Your phone's settings for push.

FAQ

Can I turn off all Skool emails at once?

Not with one switch that Skool documents. Skool's help article shows the email switches group by group, so open Settings, then Notifications, and switch off each group's digest, daily, admin broadcast and event reminder emails. The four switches at the top cover new followers, likes, new paid members and affiliate referrals.

How do I turn off Skool push notifications?

Use your phone's own notification settings for the Skool app. Skool's help centre has no article on push notifications, so it gives no steps inside the app. Skool's store listings describe the app as all of Skool's features plus push notifications, so the app is where those alerts come from.

Why am I not getting Skool notifications?

First check Settings, then Notifications, and Settings, then Chat, to see what is switched on. The digest is weekly and the notifications email is daily, and Skool does not email you about chat messages while you are online. Then check your spam folder and your phone's notification settings for the Skool app.

How do I stop someone messaging me on Skool?

Block them. In the Skool Chat window, click the three dots menu, then Block. Skool says you will stop getting notifications of their messages and they will not know you blocked them. To stop a whole group messaging you, pick Chat off for that group under Settings, then Chat.
